George

IMG_6271

George lives with his grandmother, aunt, uncle, and four siblings. Considering the family have lots of visitors staying, it is clear that one room is certainly not enough to house such a big family. George was originally raised in a village with his brother, and Parents. The brothers parents died not long after they were born, so the grandmother took over the care for the children. The grandmother decided to bring them to Katanga when she was unable to look after them herself. To save money the family have moved into one small room, sleeping sat up against the wall as there is no space for all to lie down.

The family has seen a change in both George and his brother since they started in Hope for Life’s catch up classes. The two boys have become much better behaved and the family feels that they are learning valuable skills. Their grandmother and uncle wish that Hope For Life could help more children like the brothers, attend the catch up lessons in Katanga. Hope for Life can help others when George is able to find a sponsor who can send him to formal school, which will open up space in the Hope For Life classroom. A willing sponsor will not only be able to help George but will open the pathway for even more children to have access to an education.

Do you feel you are able to afford just £20/month to send George to school?

If so send an email, letting us that you would like to sponsor a child, to hopeforlifekatanga@gmail.com and we will let you know how you can make a difference.

(For child protection reasons we are using a false name for him online)
