I am learning Mechanics, specialising in car engines. The training is going well,, I have so far learnt the bascos of Mechanics.

2022 AT A GLANCE 

  • School fees and the necessary support for 56 children in primary and secondary school. Schools opened fully at the beginning of the year but closed a week earlier this month to control an outbreak of Ebola.

  • In-house vocational training in our classrooms for 16 young women. We have awarded 10 of these women scholarships to attend vocational training colleges or working with local artisans from January. ā€¢ Sponsorship for 26 young women in vocational training around Uganda, studying; Nursing, Hairdressing & Cosmetics, Fashion & Design, Nursery Teaching, and Catering & Hotel Management.

  • Sponsorship for 2 young men to train in mechanics (Alex & Ashiraf).

  • Scholarship for Immaculate to study a Bachelors in Secretarial Studies. She received a half-scholarship from the university after getting a First in her Diploma.

  • Housing to a family we sponsor as they are hit significantly due to Covid restrictions and other complications.

  • Financial support for medical tests and medication for four people. Three mothers with severe liver damage, a chronic lung problem, and typhoid. A sponsored child with malaria and pneumonia

 
I graduated and attained a Diploma in Secretarial Services.

With the help of Hope for Life, I am now an independent person, I can sustain for myself, I can pay for every needs of life for me and my son.

SUCCESS STORIES 

Immaculate and Alex are just two of the many who are starting to make significant progress as a result of your sponsorship and support.

As well as advancing through the school years and getting good exam results, everyone on our programme is making progress in improving their selfconfidence, interpersonal skills and valuing personal hygiene and health.

  • Phionah, Sandra, Namirro, Najib, Derrick and Ronnie sat their P.7 exams this month and find our if they are promoted to secondary school in January. Graduating Primary is the first key milestone on this journey towards self-sufficiency. We are extremely proud of each of them.

  • Latifa and Zaina complete their S.4 exams and are hoping to attend vocational courses in Fashion & Design and Nursing, depending on their exam results.

  • We are expecting all other sponsored students to be promoted into the next school year.

  • Joan, Shanitah, Phionah, Prossy, Saida, Josephine, Mastullah, Serenah, Eva, Sharon, Harriet, Rehema, Rita, Minala, Florence and Tiko all completed vocational training in Nursing, Hairdressing and Fashion & Design. Most are already generating an income from their newly earned skill.
