Christmas Fayre's
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
What have we been up to?
Over the festive season, Hope For Life Katanga has been busily working away in both the UK and Uganda.
In the UK, we've been getting involved in the Backwell School, Nailsea School and the Nailsea Tithe Barn Christmas Fayres, selling Ugandan crafts made by some of the adults we have supported as part of our livelihoods programme.
How did we do?
Over the course of the three events we sold 7 large bags, 7 bracelets, 3 purses and 2 pots from Uganda as well as postcards and other HFL items. We raised a brilliant £380!
What are we doing with the money?
Part of the money was used to pay for a Christmas party for the children we work with in Uganda. The rest of the money will go into the fund for our Catch-up Classes, helping us to get more and more children back into education in Katanga.
Our Thanks
Firstly, we'd like to say a huge thank you to the organisers of the events and all those who came along. We had a great time!
Secondly, thank you so much to our wonderful volunteers: Sarah Henderson, Martin Harris, Beth Wilkinson, Ruth Wilkinson, Laura Harris. Without you guys none of this would have been possible and we really can't thank you enough for giving up your time to help us.
Keep and eye on our facebook page and twitter account for updates on what HFL Katanga has planned in the new year!
