Eron's Journey of Resilience and Hope

Eron, a young woman from Kawempe, has faced significant challenges throughout her young life but her unwavering determination and aspirations have kept her focused on her goals.

Eron dropped of school early in her life after her father passed away. With her mother’s limited income, it became impossible to cover the costs of education and daily expenses. This sudden shift left Eron feeling lost and uncertain about her future.

However, everything changed when she discovered Hope for Life Katanga (HFLK). Eron sought better career prospects through developing a new skill.

Upon joining the program, Eron found herself surrounded by encouragement and resources that had previously seemed out of reach. Through self-discovery discussions, she explored her interests and eventually uncovered a passion for fashion and design. With the support of HFLK, Eron was sponsored for vocational training in fashion and design. This training not only equipped her with the technical skills needed for the industry, but it also gave her a newfound sense of confidence and a positive outlook on life. For the first time in a long while, Eron felt a spark of hope for her future. 

After completing her training, Eron decided to pursue a career in making custom-made sofa set covers. This path allowed her to channel her creativity while also providing a means of financial support for her family. Eron has since taken on the role of a caregiver for her mother. Balancing her responsibilities as a designer and a caregiver is currently her priority and she is thankful that she was provided with a start-up package that enabled her to acquire a better sewing machine, which allows her to provide better quality products for her clients. 

Eron’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience, determination and the transformative impact of support. The challenges she has overcome have shaped her into a young woman, who is not only passionate about fashion but also deeply committed to her family’s welfare.
