Peter Rylands Cycle Update

Now that Peter Rylands' journey from London to Paris by bike is underway, we thought we'd share this message from his fundraising page:

NEW TARGET: £600

This month I shall be cycling from London to Paris in aid of Hope for Life Katanga. That's 280 miles over 4 days, which means: a lot of sweat, a lot of ache and maybe even some tears too!

Hope for Life Katanga are a small charity that works in a slum of Uganda, who work to relieve poverty through 4 community projects (Education, Livelihoods, Health and Water). Their vision is: "To enable families in Uganda to realise their potential towards living a self-sufficient life".

This is obviously an important cause that many charities work toward helping and the focus that Hope for Life brings means real change happens fast for the lives of those in Katanga. Take a look at their blog: http://www.hopeforlifekatanga.com/blog/ to see updates on their work and the smiles that their work bring to the families of Uganda.

As for my target of £480, a big thank you has to go to those who have supported me so far. It has been reached and surpassed! £480 can send 2 children to school for a year and any additional money will stay within the education section of the charity, paying for supplies and the teacher's salaries.

All my costs are paid for and so all donations will go toward Hope for Life and their amazing work. I hope you can help me support them in anyway possible.

I am riding with my colleague Mark Stringer, who is raising money for Alzheimers Research, if you're feeling especially generous or it is a charity close to you please donate on his page here: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/markstringer1.
And please, if you can, remember to check the Gift Aid option!

Thank you,
Peter
